Aldi's announced on Monday that home delivery to the Chicago area will be starting. Aldi's will be partnering with Instacart for the deliveries. Not only that, Instacart is offering $20 off and free delivery to first time Instacart users (coupon code LOVEALDI. The coupon is valid through May 31).
The CEO of Aldi's, Jason Hart, had this to say about home delivery:
"We are committed to saving people time and money, no matter how they shop for groceries. The response to our Instacart pilot in Atlanta, Dallas, and Los Angeles was overwhelmingly positive, and with nearly 200 Chicago-area stories, it only makes sense to being online delivery to this major market."
Aldi's is a consumer favorite, as it offers quality food at discount prices. The company has increased in popularity over the past few years with offering more organic foods. It has also increased its inexpensive gluten free products, to better serve the Celiac community, and gluten intolerant community (fellow Celiacs, I been a customer of Aldi's since they unveiled their gluten free products. I have never once been 'glutened' by their products. They are safe and I recommend them).
It is unknown whether the feature will be rolling out in other locations. It looks as if the home delivery feature is still in a beta process. Who knows, if the feature continues its success in the Chicago area, more metropolitan areas may soon be offering Aldi's home delivery.
