Brian Christopher (Lawler), better known as Too Cool's Grandmaster Sexay, died Sunday after an apparent suicide. He was 46.
Lawler debuted in the WWE in 1997, trying to make a name for himself in the light heavyweight division. It wasn't until he joined forces with Scotty 2 Hotty when he became a household name. Both men formed a tag team called Too Much, which later turned into Too Cool (with Rikishi). It was the worst kept secret that Brian Christopher was the real-life son of Hall of Famer Jerry "the King" Lawler. Jim Ross constantly hinted at it, with Jerry Lawler fervently denying it. Brian Christopher was in and out of the WWE until 2014. Brian Christopher's troubled real life was constantly in the news throughout the years. In 2009, he was arrested for public intoxication. Sadly, in July 2018, he was arrested for DUI and jailed. On July 28, 2018, Brian Christopher Lawler hung himself and died on July 29, 2018. His death was confirmed by multiple WWE superstars on social media. The news of his death sent shock waves across the WWE Universe, which was already crippled by news of Brickhouse Brown and Nikolai Volkoff's deaths. If you go on WWE's social media and website for confirmation, you won't find one. More than likely, they won't spotlight his news for one of two reasons: One, because it was a suicide by a troubled former wrestler. Two, out of respect for Jerry "the King" Lawler. If it's because of the latter, I commend WWE for respecting privacy during this sad time. I mean, Brian Christopher just died today, the Lawler family deserves as much privacy as possible. Even though I'm writing about it, I want to use this post to extend my deepest condolences to the Lawler family. I cannot imagine the immense level of pain you are going through. Just know that the WWE Universe embraces you and is mourning with you. RIP Brian Christopher (1972-2018). Taken away too soon! </3 Thank you for entertaining the WWE Universe. Your infectious laugh, whether kayfabe or real, will live on forever (so will your sick moves, HOLLA!). Update: WWE has confirmed that Brian Christopher Lawler has died. During the summer, it's a great way to beat the heat and hang out with friends. In the past, people had to wait in line to purchase tickets to watch the big blockbusters on the big screen. Fast forward to present day, and we have services such as MoviePass, a subscription-based movie ticketing program. This program allows subscribers to buy one movie ticket per day for a monthly fee. If you are a frequent moviegoer, this program is a dream come true. Unfortunately, for subscribers, the program turned into a nightmare when the program ran out of money (MoviePass moviegoers were unable to check into movies on July 26). The service was still interrupted as of Friday morning. The owners of MoviePass, Helios and Matheson Analytics, disclosed that it borrowed $5 million in cash from Hudson Bay Capital Management to resume services. According to MoviePass' Twitter account, subscribers were still having issues as of Saturday night. Subscribers has difficulty with "card-based check-ins." MoviePass mentioned that the glitch is being worked on, and that e-ticketing is "fully functional." Readers: Do you use MoviePass? Have you had any issues this week? The company lost more than $120 billion in market value, making it the largest ever loss of value in one day for a U.S. traded company. The company warned that the numbers will not get any better between now and the end of the year. In fact, they are projecting that revenue growth would decline in both the 3rd and 4th quarters. Investors have been completely blindsided by the massive tumble. They questioned how things have changed "so dramatically" in such a short time. The tumble is just the icing on the cake of a very hard year for Facebook. An analyst for Pivotal Research Group stated that the "core Facebook platform is declining." With the scandal surrounding Cambridge Analytica, and now the share tumble, is Facebook in serious trouble? Is this recent share tumble the final nail in the coffin of the social media empire? My Two Cents Trends come and go, but never has a social media empire been hit with such controversy, such as the one Facebook has been dealing with this year. Facebook had gradually seen a decrease in users in the last couple of years, as the younger generation began to favor other platforms, such as Snapchat. While Facebook was able to survive that decline in users, I don't think it will survive another scandal and share tumble. I just want to point out that I like Facebook. It has helped me connect with family and friends of the family that I thought I lost touch with forever. It has also helped my blogging and writing business. I hope Facebook is able to rebound from these tough times. Readers: Do you think Facebook's days are numbered? Sad news to tell you about today: Remember those candy hearts that were given out in grade school on Valentine's Day? They would have sweet messages like "Hug me," "Be Mine," etc? Bad news: the company responsible for the legendary candy has shut down.
Round Hill Investments LLC made the announcement on Tuesday that they are selling Necco Brands to an unknown manufacturer, and that they had closed down their plant in Revere, MA. Round Hill had recently bought Necco Brands for $17.3 million at a bankruptcy auction earlier this year. Necco is America's oldest and continuously operating candy company. They are also responsible for Squirrel Nut Zippers, Mary Jane, and Necco Wafer candies. As of right now, there are no plans for candy production to resume in the near future. My Two Cents Sad to see another childhood favorite be shut down. Certainly a sad year to be a 30-something. First we lose Toys 'R' Us, now we lose Necco Brands. What's next?! #ByeChildhood! source:www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/candy-hearts-company-plant-abruptly-closes-n894546 ![]()
