As if we didn't need another reason to hate Arie, we have this:
On Wednesday's episode of Good Morning America, Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr revealed that he allowed cameras to roll as he coldly broke up with Becca Kufrin. His reason? So she could become the next Bachelorette.
"I really wanted everyone to know that this was on me. This was my fault, and I felt like filming that would let people know that, that if there were any questions on the breakup, that those would be squashed if they saw the breakup. And I wanted her that opportunity, honestly, I wanted her that opportunity to be the potential Bachelorette."
Becca Kufrin was announced the next Bachelorette on last night's finale, and she met 5 of the men who will be vying for her heart.
Sadly, Arie decided to take credit for Becca's opportunity:
"I hope I gave her that closure. I'm very happy for her. I'm happy that she's going to be able to find her true love through the show."
My Two Cents
The depths of pathetic this man reaches knows no bounds. She didn't need any favors from him. She didn't need his help to be the next Bachelorette. She earned it because she deserved the opportunity. All you did was publicly embarrass her. Nothing you say or do can get you out of the damage you caused.
This is what I see happening:
Becca will find her true love on The Bachelorette. She will be engaged and have the "happily ever after" ending she so rightly deserves.
Meanwhile, Arie and Lauren will have a few months of engagement bliss, then he will realize that he isn't ready and he will probably dump her publicly for another contestant. Everyone will close their doors on him and he will end up alone.
That is my prediction. Congrats to Becca on well-deserved good karma.
