Ahead of tonight's episode of The Bachelor, Arie is looking at backlash for sharing his ex's miscarriage story on national TV.
Arie's ex, Cassie Harshman, is furious with Arie for sharing her miscarriage with Lauren Burnham and millions of people around the world. Arie told Lauren B that he found out about his ex's miscarriage while he was traveling for racing, and they eventually broke up. He said she called him and said that when he returned home, she won't be there. According to Cassie Harshman, that is the furthest thing from the truth. Here's what Cassie said about what happen between her and Arie: "He was with me in the doctor's office when we found out about the miscarriage. It didn't happen at all the way he portrayed it. At all! The miscarriage was the beginning of the end." She also said that it wasn't his story to tell. To make matters worse, the people in Harshman's life didn't even know about the miscarriage. They found out when they watched the show. "It wasn't his story to tell. It's so disrespectful. It's very painful to see one of the worst experiences of my life played out on TV. That he would use this while cameras are rolling, with someone he barely knows, to garner sympathy, is just really sad. I never even told my dad about the miscarriage. I have a lot of friends and family that didn't know, and The Bachelor is how they're finding out. It sucks." My Two Cents Usually I try not to believe gossip, but judging by Arie's behavior, I believe his ex. Her miscarriage was not his story to tell. A miscarriage is the absolute worst thing to happen to a woman. It physically, emotionally, and spiritually cripples a woman. It is something we never get over. My heart goes out to her, and her loved ones. Finding out about something so personal in such a public and crass way is just disgusting. I already didn't like Arie, but now I am just disgusted by him. Even before I heard about this, I remember watching the episode, thinking "Why is he telling her something like this on camera? This is a heartbreaking story and is disrespectful to the woman who had the miscarriage." Guys, just because a woman you were with had a miscarriage, it isn't your story to tell, unless you have the 'OK' from the woman who actually suffered the miscarriage. source: www.buddytv.com/articles/the-bachelor/arie-luyendyks-ex-is-furious-a-67859.aspx
