General Motors will soon allow you to order Starbucks and other items while driving.

General Motors (GM) announced that Cadillac, Chevy, Buick, and GMC model cars will soon be able to order a cup of joe from Starbucks while you drive into work!

In the car's app, Marketplace, drivers will be able to order their favorite beverage using their car's touchscreen. The updates are expected to roll out in the next year and a half, and will be using your car's built-in 4G LTE connection to connect to various retailers in your area. Not only will consumers be able to order coffee from Starbucks, you will be able to order your favorite meal at Applebee's.

Unfortunately, Marketplace does not offer voice suggest, so you will have to use your touchscreen for everything.
A representative for GM said that Marketplace has been tested and is deemed safe to use while you drive.

​My Two Cents

As if we don't have enough distracted drivers out there, GM has to unveil something like this. What is the point of having this feature, when there is no voice suggest? Having to use the touchscreen while driving will take your attention away from the road, and cause an accident. And for what, a venti non-fat mocha and a scone?
It doesn't seem worth it to me.
