Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth split!

The young romance between Liam and Miley has sung its "Last Song." On Saturday, a rep for Cyrus broke the news that the couple had separated after 8 months of marriage.
"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."

For the last few days, fans began to speculate that something was up when Miley was photographed without her wedding and engagement rings. If you follow the 26-year-old on Instagram, you know that she has been on vacation in Italy. She was joined by her friend Kaitlynn Carter, who is also dealing with a breakup (she and ex Brody Jenner had recently split after a year of marriage), and two more friends later on.

Earlier in the summer, Cyrus revealed that she does not fit into the stereotypical wife role.
"I think it’s very confusing to people that I’m married. But my relationship is unique. I don’t know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it’s so complex, and modern, and new that I don’t think we’re in a place where people would get it. I mean, do people really think that I’m at home in a f—ing apron cooking dinner? I’m in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women. People become vegetarian for health reasons, but bacon is still f–ing good, and I know that. I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most. I definitely don’t fit into a stereotypical wife role. I don’t even like that word."
Many are speculating that Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter are currently hooking up. Apparently, there are photographs of the two making out (see below).

My Two Cents
I'm not the least bit surprised by the split. No offense to Miley, but she is a free spirit. She has never been someone who likes to be tied down to anyone or anything (unless it was something extremely special). She "can't be tamed (at least not right now)."
As for Liam, he seems like a solid guy who is ready to settle down, get married, and have human kids. Miley and Liam, while they do share that bond, they aren't each other's "person."

Am I sad that this relationship has ended? Yeah, I'm a little sad. I'm a sucker for love stories (otherwise I wouldn't have a subscription to Lifetime and Hallmark). I wish both of them the best, and I hope they find the love that they are looking for.
