Get your cups of Earl Grey ready, Captain Jean-Luc Picard is about to boldly return to the starship Enterprise.
On Saturday, the Star Trek veteran tweeted that it is an "unexpected but delightful surprise to be returning to Jean-Luc Picard and to explore new dimensions within him." He went on to say that he is "humbled" to hear stories about how his show "Star Trek: The Next Generation" brought viewers comfort and helped them through difficult times in their lives. Showrunner Alex Kurtzman is equally excited for Jean-Luc Picard to return to the enterprise. "With overwhelming joy, it’s a privilege to welcome Sir Patrick Stewart back to the Star Trek fold. For over 20 years, fans have hoped for the return of Captain Jean-Luc Picard and that day is finally here. We can’t wait to forge new ground, surprise people, and honor generations both new and old." Details of when/where the Picard character would appear are unknown, but Patrick Stewart did hashtag CBS All Access, which is the home of Star Trek Discovery. The Hollywood Reporter stated that Stewart signed onto a new Star Trek series, where he will reprise his iconic role. They also said that the show will not be a TNG reboot, but it will be exploring the next chapter of Picard's life. As of right now, there is no word on whether Jonathan Frakes will be reprising his role as Picard's "number one." My Two Cents I grew up watching Star Trek: TNG with my dad. I've seen every episode multiple times. Hearing that Patrick Stewart is coming back and reprising his iconic role is music to my geeky, trekkie ears! I will be following this story very closely! source:www.yahoo.com/entertainment/patrick-stewart-tweets-returning-star-trek-roots-jean-luc-picard-205903764.html
