Sarah Jessica Parker "heartbroken" over Kim Cattrall's comment that they were "never friends."

​If you're a fan of the Sex and the City series, you were probably saddened to hear the comments Kim Cattrall had made about her co-stars.
In an interview with Piers Morgan, Kim Cattrall stated that she was "never friends" with her co-stars.

While promoting her hit show "Divorce," Sarah Jessica Parker was asked by Andy Cohen about whether we can expect a 3rd SATC movie, and her thoughts about what Kim Cattrall said regarding their friendship:

"[I felt] just heartbroken. That whole week... I found it really upsetting. That’s not the way I recall our experience. So, it’s sad, but... I always think that what ties us together is this singular experience. I was a professional experience, but it became personal because it was years and years of our lives. I’m hoping that that sort of eclipses anything that’s been recently spoken... That many years spent doing something so special that people had a connection with is such a privilege."

Cohen suggested that Cattrall's character Samantha could be played by Sharon Stone. Parker said that he wasn't the first person to suggest her.
There is still no word as to when/if we can expect a 3rd installment in the SATC movie trilogy.

​My Two Cents

As someone who followed both the show and the movies, I was disappointed to hear Cattrall's true feelings about her co-stars. I think, as viewers, we expect long-time co-stars to be close both on-screen and off-screen. As we have seen, that isn't always the case. Honestly, I think this has killed any chance of a 3rd movie.
Honestly, Cattrall's contribution to the show and the movies cannot be replaced or recast. No one can play Samantha quite like her. Even if they cast Sharon Stone in that role, it will never be the same.
