Not since the gluten free diet has a diet caused so much buzz. With celebrities, such as Kourtney Kardashian and Jenna Jameson using the diet to get in the best shape of their lives, it makes people wonder: is this diet the “real deal?”
What is the Keto Diet?
The Keto Diet is a very low-carb, moderately high in protein, and high in fat. The food on this diet turns your body into a fat burning machine.
What do people on the Keto Diet eat?
Veggies, healthy fats like avocado, lean protein such as chicken. And fish, cheese and eggs. A word about veggies: they have to be veggies that grow above ground. That means no carrots. When it comes to carbs, they say to keep under 25-50 grams of carbs a day. On top of the below food pyramid, nuts are highly recommended.
What not to eat on a Keto Diet.
Anything carbs and starch. No bread, no potatoes, no rice. No oatmeal, no granola bars. Stay away from pasta, fruit, donuts, juice, soda, or candy. If you do add carbs into your day, make sure they are complex carbs.
As far as alcohol is concerned, beer is not allowed. Wine is okay, once in a while (FitVine makes a healthy, low carb wine. I’m still searching for it in my area. It’s so hard to find).
If you’re wondering if you can still have your cup of tea and/or coffee, you can, as long as you don’t go crazy with the milk, cream, and sugar.
Expectations for Keto:
Many say that you can lose up to 20 pounds a month.
The Keto Diet helped Jenna Jameson lose 60 pounds of baby weight and she’s never looked better. Kourtney Kardashian is also in the best shape of her life after having 3 kids.
Is it safe? This diet has been controversial in the press, due to the low carb/high fat part. Would I try it? I’m definitely interested. Even though I’ve lost nearly all the weight I gained with my son, I want to be much smaller. I like the low carb aspect of this diet. However, I was taught that complex carbs (oatmeal, wheat, brown rice, and sweet potatoes) were fine. Of course keep it under a certain amount of carb per day. We need to have carbs to fuel our bodies for our busy lives. I recommended oatmeal and granola as your only source of carbs.

Evolution, perhaps the most successful group in WWE history, will be reuniting for Smackdown's 1000th episode.
That's right! We will see Triple H, Randy Orton, Ric Flair, and Batista together once again.
The foursome are the most decorated team in history, with 49 world championships between the men. They dominated WWE from 2002 to 2005. After a long hiatus, they banded together in a rivalry against The Shield in 2014.
The momentous occasion will take place on Tuesday October 16, 2018 in Washington, DC.
It's going to be interesting to see these men together once again, especially with how vile Randy Orton has been lately.

On the heels of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's sexual assault testimony against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, many are coming out and sharing their stories.
'Fuller House' star Jodie Sweetin instagrammed both her support for Christine Blasey Ford, and she shared her heartbreaking story.
In a revealing Instagram post, Sweetin, 36, discussed her assault, and why she did not come forward sooner.
"I stand with her. I AM her. I was the girl who never reported because I blamed myself. I was the woman who never reported because I didn't want to go through the pain and ridicule. The same sort of pain that I witnessed Dr Christine Blasey Ford walk through today. What we saw today is about a much bigger issue of survivors of sexual assault being persecuted, judged and re-traumatized when they do come forward. We are told that if it were 'real', we would have reported it at the time. Often when we were merely children or young girls. Girls who were assaulted and then had 'whore' written on lockers because rumors spread. Girls who were afraid of becoming a pariah in their social circles because they told the truth. It was easier to stay quiet. And as we grew older and it happened again, we had been trained to remain silent. We had learned the lesson that no one will believe us. That even if someone DOES, it holds no consequence. We had watched other women come forward, only to be told 'there were no witnesses, so it's your word against his', knowing that 'his' story is always more believed than 'hers.'"
Many embraced Sweetin for coming forward, and it inspired users to come forward about their assaults and rapes.
My Two Cents
It's incredibly inspiring to see all these women coming forward and speaking their truths.
I was molested twice (when I was 6 and 7), and I was raped once (when I was 15).
Reporting anything traumatic can be painful. Having to relive everything that happened is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. People will ridicule you, judge you, and that type of grief can cause even more trauma. This is why a lot of victims don't come forward. Unless you've been there, you could never understand. Don't talk sh*t about something you know nothing about.
I thank Jodie Sweetin, Busy Phillips, and other female celebrities for coming forward with their stories, and inspiring women like me to share my story. We are in this together.

At 49, Jennifer Lopez is in the best shape of her life. On Wednesday, the singer/actress showed off her muscular arms and toned back, while rockin' a clingly maroon dress and silver earrings (photo below).
Her Las Vegas residency will be coming to an end on Saturday, and the fit mama credits her hectic residency schedule for helping her get into such good shape:
"When I started this run I thought omg 15 shows in 27 days that’s a lot. But I made a promise to myself that instead of letting it wear me down I would be even stronger at the end of it…I will work out and be in the best shape of my life…"
What I'd like to know is what she eats to fuel her body and get those muscles? I want my arms and back to look like that! Help a fellow mama out!

Brooke Simpson, the young woman who charmed the pants off the judges last season of The Voice, is giving America another reason to love her.
A few days ago, Simpson shared a post on Instagram and a troll decided to fat-shame her, asking her why she gained weight. Brooke screenshot the entire thing and responded in a classy way:
"I thought Iâd publicly answer this question since they were bold enough to ask (although the account is a spam account to hide behind) ð
If I gained weight itâs because I was enjoying life with good people, good food, and good times.
I donât try to remain a certain size to make the general public happy or to look like your typical artist because Iâm NOT your typical artist and Iâm NOT here to make the public happy. Iâm here to be BROOKE.
Who is Brooke you ask? Brooke is a strong, loud, creative, and forward woman who is proud of her Native American heritage, proud to be a woman, someone who stands up for women and girls, stands up for all to be treated equally, and someone who refuses to be anyoneâs puppet.
Iâm not here to make you feel comfortable. And Iâm DEFINITELY not here to look pretty. I am here to use my voice and say/sing whatâs on my heart.
If you donât like it please be my guest and get off of any social media platform that has anything to do with me ð itâs crazy how we forget that we donât have to look at or partake in what we donât like lol ð
Again I remind you- I AM NOT HERE TO LOOK âPRETTYâ. My purpose is much bigger than that ð
Simpson has an army of loyal crusaders behind her, which is something I cannot say for the troll who bashed her.
My Two Cents
Get em girl! You are a beautiful artist, inside and out. Those trolls are just hating because they will never be as talented and beautiful as you. You have a God-given gift. Don't let those morons get you down. They have no power.

On this week's episode of Smackdown Live, former Smackdown Women's Champion Carmella debuted a new hairdo....and not everyone was a fan.
A Twitter user by the name of Tyler said that he's no longer a fan because of the darker hair. Carmella clapped back at the hater and said: "Don't need you anyway, peace!"
The tweet was liked and retweeted hundreds of times.
Carmella, I don't care what the haters say, the hair is money and you look FABULOUS! #MellaIsMoney! Do you, boo!

Supposedly Tristan Thompson can't keep his eyes fixed on Khloe Kardashian, and the trolls are salivating.
Once again, the lowest forms of media scum are attacking Khloe Kardashain and Tristan Thompson relationship.
Supposedly Tristan was at a party and a partygoer told US Weekly that Thompson, 27, was getting handsy with an unknown female. There is no actual proof that this happened, but the drones of the world are believing every word.
The reports come shortly after Tristan Thompson and Khloe Kardashian insiders revealed that the couple are stronger than ever. They are so strong that Tristan Thompson serenaded his lady and licked her nose in a super sweet photo (below).
My Two Cents
What baffles me is how the media is easy to attack the couple and not get the real story. At the same time, maybe they would do well to mind their own business until there is something to actually report. These people are new parents for goodness sake. Give them some breathing space so they can live their lives.
Maybe these media scumbags can do something good with their lives, such as volunteering at soup kitchens or visiting sick children in the hospital.
Dunkin is permanently dropping donuts...from the name.
The beloved coffee and donut chain will officially be changing its name to 'Dunkin.' Not only that, the logo will also be be slightly altered. The 68-year-old food chain will still be rocking the orange and pink round font that we all know. There will just be no donuts after dunkin.'
There will be additional changes made to Dunkin,' including adding mobile ordering lanes, and simplifying the menu (the chain recently added a gluten free brownie to the menu. I've tried it and it's pretty good. It's a little calorie-heavy though).
So when will all these changes take place? Dunkin' will be everywhere in January 2019. International stores can look for the name change to occur sometime after January.
My Two Cents
I don't care what the name is, as long as I can still get my iced coffee with almond milk, chamomile tea, or my iced green tea.
Btw- As far as my iced coffee with almond milk is concerned, I'm not lactose intolerant. I like the almond milk because it adds flavor and some sweetness to my coffee, without adding too many calories and carbs.

Before I got pregnant with my son, I fell in love with running. I had been running since 2011 and I was able to keep off a lot of weight. The only time I didn't run was when I injured my spinal cord and had two spinal operations.
I digress. Running provides an escape for me. Raising a baby on my own is stressful, running two work-at-home companies is stressful, and everyday life is stressful. If you live a hectic lifestyle, you need that moment of escape so you can completely clear your mind and be the best version of yourself for your family.
After I had my son, I started having massive panic attacks. They were debilitating. When I was cleared to workout, I started running again. Running has helped zen me out completely. Every time I'm at the gym, I set goals for myself. I'm going to run at a specific speed for a specific time. Mainly, I been working on getting my mile run time down to 12 mins. I haven't gotten there yet, but I'm building up my stamina and I'm getting very close to my goal.
Additionally, running is a killer calorie burn. I am at my happiest when I'm dripping sweat. It means that I've worked hard and I feel nothing but proud of myself.
After I've done my run, I head to the weight machines for 15-30 mins (depends on how much time I have. Usually I don't have much time during the weeknights because my dad only watches him for a short time a few nights a week). On the weekends, if presented with the opportunity, I have a few hours to workout). Due to my back injury history, I don't overdo it with the weights. I slowly increase the weights and reps each week.
For me, it's important to work on building muscle while burning fat. So far I've been successful. I've lost 31 pounds since I had my son in late May 2018. I still have 24 pounds left to lose until I'm at my goal weight. In 9 more pounds, I will be at my pre-pregnancy weight.
I am hoping to do 5K's and half-marathons in the next few years. I want my son to be inspired to live an active lifestyle.
Below is a side-by-side that I did this morning. The before pic is of me 2 days before I gave birth to my son. The after pic is from this morning.
For all you trolls out there that want to talk massive crap about me being fat, when was the last time you ran nearly 2 miles in 25 mins? Sit down and learn from the pros.
