Writing Prompt
She narrowed her eyes and clenched her fist. "Do not challenge me." My contribution Sara was not looking forward to this day. While she knew it was important for her ex to see his son, she couldn't escape the memories of how he treated her during the pregnancy. Leaving her when she was 4 weeks pregnant, lying to her about everything, the man she thought she knew was nothing short of a heartless coward. Regardless of how he treated her, Sara could not keep her son from Alan. As Alan pulled up in his pickup, Sara felt her anxiety increase from zero to 100. She watched the former 'love of her life' get out of his truck and walk toward her. Sara looked down at her sleeping baby in stroller and smiled. Alan cleared his throat as he stopped behind the stroller. "Hey Sara. Glad you gave me some time to see my son." Sara felt her blood boil. "Even though I can't stand the sight of you, I cannot deny my son his father. I meant what I said on the phone, these visits will be supervised until I can trust you alone with him. You know the reason." Alan wiped the sweat from his forehead. "And as I told you on the phone, I did not know my fiancee threatened your life last year. Besides, she denied it. In my eyes, it didn't happen." Sara took a deep breath to control her anger. "Can we not do this in front of my son?! I don't want him picking up on this drama." Alan shook his head. "You brought all this on yourself, Sara. You should have aborted this child. Now he's here and he doesn't have a complete family. I talked this over with Melinda. We are going to court for custody, and we will win. Judges side with two parent households, not one." Sara narrowed her eyes and clenched her fist. "Do NOT challenge me! This is MY son, he has proper care, a roof over his head, and an army of family, friends, and a Church family who will go to bat for him. Not to mention, he has a mom who will take down anyone who tries to separate her from her baby. Don't challenge me, Alan. This a fight you will NOT win." Alan scoffed. "No judge in their right mind will side with you." Sara shook her head. "You forget that I saved every single threat you and your fiancee sent me. The only reason why I didn't go to the police last year was because I was hoping you would stay gone." Alan paced back and forth, trying to control his anger. "You're lucky there's a baby here. Otherwise, we would throw down, physically. Don't forget, I have a military background and I'm stronger than you." Sara took her phone out and replayed a recording. The recording was of what Alan just said to her. Sara looked into Alan's eyes and smiled. Suddenly, Alan heard sirens getting closer to their location. A police cruiser pulled up to their location and two officers walked toward Alan and Sara. "Hands above your head, Alan! You're under arrest." Alan placed his hands above his head in panic. "You went to the police? How could you?!" Sara's friend Monica walked up to her from behind and took control of the stroller. Sara smiled at Alan. "Like I said, I will take down anyone who tries to separate me from my baby. No one challenges me or threatens me, and gets away with it. You can count on me getting a restraining order. I'm pressing full charges, and I hope you get the help you so desperately need." Alan was escorted to a police cruiser and placed in back. Sara turned to face Monica. "Thank you for being here for us, Monica." Monica smiled. "Anytime. I'm glad you went to the police after he messaged you on Facebook. That was really smart." Monica and Sara looked at Sara's son, who was happily babbling. Sara and Monica laughed. Sara filed a restraining order against Alan and his fiancee later that day. The order lasted until Sara's son turned 18. Two years after Sara had Alan arrested, she met her now husband Daniel. Daniel was able to adopt Sara's son and they lived in perfect bliss. Alan and his fiancee broke up. ©2018 Written by Admin S

ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey released a statement, saying: "We’re thrilled that America has welcomed the Conner family back into their homes. The show is as fresh and relevant today as it was when it left the air 21 years ago. We can’t wait to see what the Roseanne team has in store for next year." The show brought back the original cast, with other character favorites expected later on this season. The revival has been a trending topic for weeks now, with people from both sides of the fence talking about the show. The show has been condemned by some groups, due to Roseanne Barr's endorsement of President Trump and her feelings on certain topics, such as LGBTQ and others. On the other side of the fence, people are loving that a relatable family sitcom is back on the airways. People are tuning in regardless of Barr's political affiliations (which is how it should be). The season premiere touched on a lot of topics, including gender fluidity. Darlene's son dresses fluidly. He acknowledges himself as a boy, but happens to like dressing unconventional. Roseanne and Dan weren't a fan of this because they knew he'd be made fun of. When Roseanne brought her grandson to school one day, she stood up for him. I think they handled the subject matter amazingly. I, for one, am excited that the show will be back another season. The success of this revival just shows that the sitcom is timeless. We needed something like this on TV. The original series can be watched on Amazon Prime, while the new episodes can be watched on Hulu. Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot (one of His disciples) for 30 pieces of sliver. He was arrested and interrogated. He was questioned by a High Priest, who asked him: "I adjure you, by the Living God, to tell us, are you the Anointed One, the Son of God?" Jesus answered: "You have said it, and in time, you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Almighty, coming on the clouds of Heaven." The priest condemned Jesus for blasphemy and sentenced Him to death. He was brought to Pontius Pilate who then gave leaders the authority to judge Jesus based on their own laws. When Pilate learned that Jesus was from Galilee, he referred the case to the King Herod, the leader from Galilee. Jesus said nothing during questioning. He was then given back to Pilate. Pilate ordered Jesus to be whipped and released. Priests urged a crowd to demand that Jesus should be crucified. After Pilate's wife had a dream about Jesus, she told Pilate to have "nothing to do with this righteous man." Chief priests informed Pilate that Jesus should be sentenced to death for claiming to be God's Son. Pilate asked Jesus where he came from. After questioning, Pilate presented Jesus to the crowd and declared Jesus to be innocent. He washed his hands in water to show that he wants no part in Jesus' condemning. Regardless, Jesus was handed over to be crucified, in an attempt to avoid rioting. Jesus was on the cross for 6 hours. During his final hours on the cross, darkness spread over the land. Jesus quoted Psalm 22, saying: "My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?" Following a loud cry, Jesus gave up His Spirit. Subsequently, there was an earthquake, where tombs shattered open and a curtain in the Temple was ripped from top to bottom (This symbolizes a removal of restriction of the common Jews from the Temple's Holiest of Holies, and that God's people can communicate directly with Jesus instead of using a moderator like a Priest). In Matthew 27 45:54, it is written "Truly this was God's Son." A secret follower of Jesus went to Pilate after the crucification and requested the body of Jesus. Pilate wanted proof that Jesus was dead, and the follower informed Pilate that Jesus was dead (Mark 15:45) The follow took Jesus' body, wrapped it in linen and placed Jesus' body in the tomb, along with 75 pounds of myrrh and aloes. A large rock was rolled over the entrance of the tomb. Three days later, on Easter Sunday, Jesus rose from the tomb ("He is not here; He has risen, just as He said..." Matthew 27:60). In my personal life, I have always had a strained relationship with God. I had trouble fitting in at Church in the past, and whenever something bad happened, I would think I wasn't worthy of being a child of God. Last Sunday, for the first time in nearly 10 years, I went back to Church. It also happened to be the day Holy Week started. I've realized that throughout everything in my life, Jesus has always been with me. I haven't been alone. He has just been waiting for me to realize it. Coming back to my faith is something that had to happen on its own. I'm not someone who would shove anything down people's throats; I know what it's like. Coming to Christ is a personal decision that is made between yourself and God. He wants you to be yourself. He doesn't want smoky mirrors. He doesn't want a show or a performance. He wants who YOU are at YOUR core. None of us are perfect and we ALL fall short. The importance of today is that God sent his only Son Jesus to die for us on the Cross. All I can do this morning is thank Him. ![]() The WWE family just gained a future a-lister! Yes, the Awesome one and Maryse welcomed a future Women's Champion on Tuesday night. The couple announced the birth on social media, along with a pic of the couple's hands clasped around their baby's hand (see pic below). "Of course our little girl arrived early. Welcome to the world Monroe Sky Mizanin 3/27/18 11:40pm." The couple celebrated their daughter during a baby shower on Valentine's Day. It was a star-studded event, which included singers Ryan Cabrera, Avril Lavigne, and fellow wrestlers Dolph Zigler and Rosa Mendes. The Miz and Maryse disclosed the pregnancy back in September during a Monday Night Raw broadcast. My Two Cents Congrats to the couple! I remember watching on WWE Divas when The Miz was worried about missing WrestleMania. Looks like Monroe Sky was looking out for her daddy. She didn't want him to miss out on WrestleMania. <3 source: www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/apos-girl-wwe-power-couple-223514236.html ![]() For the last few weeks, Facebook has been at the center of a privacy controversy. The controversy has sent shockwaves throughout the world, and Facebook stocks have plummeted as a result of the backlash. It all began when Facebook admitted to obtaining user data via Cambridge Analytica (a firm that collects data analytics. Cambridge Analytica also worked for the Trump campaign in the 2016 election). The firm obtained data from millions of Facebook users. What isn't known is if Cambridge Analytica sold the information. According to Cambridge Analytica, they followed all of Facebook's policies. Chief executive Mark Zuckerberg addressed the Facebook universe and apologized for the invasion of privacy. Zuckerberg is expected to testify in court next month. On Wednesday, Facebook announced new privacy settings, which will be in effect in a few weeks. The new policy will allow users to review and even delete traces of their Facebook activity (example: past posts and search inquiries). When a user deletes this information, it will be wiped from the Facebook servers forever. If a user clicks on an ad, that information will still be collected. Facebook also plans on redesigning their mobile app's settings menu. Users will be able to access their privacy and security options in one place. On Monday, wwe.com released several posts, discussing what can be expected at the upcoming Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. One of the matches that the WWE Universe can expect is a renewed rivalry between The Bar and The Hardy Boyz.
Last year, we watched these two tag teams in an epic battle for the Tag Team Championship. The rivalry began when The Hardy Boyz shocked the world with their triumphant return at WrestleMania 33. They took on Sheamus and Cesaro in a ladder match and won the Tag Team titles. The Bar regained their titles at Extreme Rules 2017 and continued to battle the relentless Hardyz for the titles. The Bar has been pretty much running the show since Jeff Hardy suffered an injury and Matt Hardy became "woken." Matt Hardy turned his attention to Bray Wyatt, whom he defeated in a battle known as The Ultimate Deletion. Rumors have been running rampant regarding Jeff Hardy's return to the squared circle. Now that those rumors have been confirmed, it will be interesting to see what is next for the legendary Hardy Boyz, and if Jeff's IRL issues will play any part in his storyline. Will we see our normal Jeff Hardy, or will we see "Woken" Nero Hardy? Another match that was announced is a contest between John Cena and Triple H. These two haven't battled together in the squared circle since 2010. Also, it looks like there will be a fatal 4-way for the Intercontinental Championship between The Miz, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and the returning Samoa Joe. ![]() On Sunday, the WWE Universe learned that Paul Heyman would be inducting Goldberg into the WWE class of 2018 Hall of Fame. The news comes as quite of a shock to many in the WWE Universe, given the rivalry Goldberg and Heyman's client Brock Lesner had in recent years. Despite Goldberg's attacks on part-time champion Lesner, Goldberg left quite an impression on Mr. Heyman. We all know how outspoken Paul Heyman is. Watching him induct Goldberg on Friday, April 6 will be very interesting. ![]() Before I begin, I try to avoid getting political in my posts because it can turn into quite a mess. However, when I see stories like the one I'm about to talk about, I can't keep quiet. Former PA Senator Rick Santorum stated on Sunday that the students who marched bravely for gun control should learn CPR instead. He also said that these kids need to find their own way to prevent school shootings. "How about kids instead of looking to someone else to solve their problem, do something about maybe taking CPR classes or trying to deal with situations that when there is a violent shooter that you can actually respond to that." He continued by saying that kids should handle bullying in their own communities and they should approach the shooters themselves. These comments came a day after hundreds of thousands of students across the US and around the world rallied for officials to push for tougher gun control laws. The rallies were led by students from Marjory Douglas High School in Parkland Florida, where 17 people were killed last month. The rallies had some special guest speakers, including Martin Luther King Jr's 9-year-old granddaughter. Her speech was followed by criticism by adults old enough to be her father and grandfather. Some of the comments threatened her overall physical safety. The students from Parkland who led the rallies were also met with widespread criticism from adults. Adults 3 to 4 times their ages laughed at these students, calling them horrible names, and also threatening their safety. My Two Cents This is what I want to talk about today: mocking and threatening these kids for having an opinion. These kids are scared, and they are turning to adults for help. They want to go to school without worrying about whether they will be going home in one piece at the end of the day. As we all know, it isn't very often teenagers ask us adults for help. Teens are in the "know-it-all, I can handle it myself" frame of mind. We have all been there. I remember it well. These children and teens are desperate to live in a world where they don't have to be afraid of being shot or stabbed. Seeing comments from people my age and older, criticizing these kids and even physically threatening them, shows a bigger problem in this world. What if it was your child who was tragically gunned down while in school? Are you going to be the same schmuck who mocks and threatens these students? Or are you going to be fighting for more gun laws? As for my stance on gun laws, I'm keeping it private. Like I said, I don't like to get political in my posts. I would like to see a resolution to the problem, no matter what it is. To the adults who are mocking and threatening these children, how do you sleep at night? Does it give you some sick pleasure to throw salt into their open wounds? All they want is to feel safe. None of these students feel safe. They are living in fear, and when adults like you belittle them, they lose faith in the older generations. They still need us. We need to listen to them. We need to hug them. We need to fight FOR them, not against them. Put your politics aside and think about things from these kids' perspectives. As a mother (to be), I would fight tooth and nail to make sure my kid is safe always. I would fight and vote on their behalf because my child's well-being means more to me than my own. I think all my fellow adults could benefit from a little: "If you cannot say anything nice, don't say anything at all." As for Rick Santorum, I only agreed with one thing he said: Kids could do something in their communities to help stop bullying. There's "Be a Star" that many celebrities back. The program teaches kids how to end bullying and embrace anyone, regardless of who they are and where they come from. When it comes to everything else he said, he is obviously one of the adults who isn't paying attention to the bigger picture. Telling kids to approach an active shooter is extremely dangerous and disgusting. I'm sure he would be singing a different tune if one of his kids had been among the victims in the Parkland shooting. He would be fighting alongside the students, pushing for a solution. Instead, these millionaire officials are sitting comfortable in their mansions and watching from the sidelines. We elect officials to push/sign laws on behalf of us. Is he telling us that all of our efforts at the polls are for nothing? Mr. Santorum, these kids are our future, and they are begging the adults in the US for help. As parents, we vote to ensure a safe country for our children to grow up in. By you saying what you said, you have no faith in the future of our country. As for me, I think these kids are extremely brave for standing up for what they believe in. They just want a solution so they don't have to worry about being gunned down in schools. I remember 20ish years ago when Columbine happened. I was in high school at the time and, even though the tragedy took place thousands of miles from where I lived, myself and everyone else were afraid. That was the first time any of us had been afraid to go to school. That was just one incident. These days, school shootings are happening everyday. I cannot imagine the horror these kids go through, going into school everyday and looking over their shoulder at their fellow students. It's not a healthy place to be for these children who aren't fully cognitively developed. Like I said, we need to fight for these students. We need a resolution, and THEY need a resolution. source: www.wfsb.com/story/37804734/rick-santorum-students-should-learn-cpr-not-seek-gun-laws ![]() John Cena isn't giving up in his quest to fight The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34. The superstar continued to poke at The Undertaker on social media, literally. Cena posted an Instagram, showing an image of him poking a picture of The Deadman with a stick. The photo included a caption that said: "C'mon, do something." (See photo below) Will this photo have any impact on tonight's episode of WWE Raw? We don't know. All we know is that Cena has a match against Kane tonight. As you remember from last week, Kane made an appearance and put Cena in his place for calling his on-screen brother a "coward." My Two Cents I have to hand it to Cena. He is relentless. He doesn't want to miss WrestleMania. Being a fan of the WWE for nearly 20 years, I can tell you that The Undertaker isn't going to fold that easily. I think the WWE writers should do the following: "Put Cena in a match with Kane at WrestleMania 34. Cena comes out first, then Kane. Kane enters the ring and gets in Cena's face. Only, it isn't Kane. "Kane" slowly takes off his mask and it's The Undertaker. The cameras do a close-up of Cena's reaction. Kane comes out after the unveiling and stands at ringside. The Undertaker beats the heck out of Cena and pins him for the 1..2..3." A girl can dream, eh? *shrugs* |
