If you shopped at Best Buy between September 27, 2017 and October 12, 2017, your payment information may have been hacked via their online chat services. According to Best Buy, hackers were able to get a hold of credit card information.
The electronics retailer released a statement, saying: "As best we can tell, only a small fraction of our overall online customer population could have been caught up in this...incident whether or not they used the chat function." Best Buy joins Sears and Delta Air Lines in the latest of data breeches via chat services. Best Buy will be reaching out to customers who were impacted by the data breech, and they will not be responsible for any charges that may have occurred during the data breech. source: www.usatoday.com/story/money/2018/04/06/best-buy-shoppers-payment-information-may-have-been-exposed-data-breach/493690002/
