While online shopping makes it easier for people to shop from the comforts of home, the shipping aspect can be pretty stressful.
According to consulting firm AlixPartners, Americans are becoming increasingly impatient with waiting for their items to be delivered. Those who were polled state that the maximum amount of time they find acceptable to wait for a package is a little over 4 days. In fact, the most demanding shoppers are those who are a part of Amazon Prime. As an Amazon Prime member, when we see that we have automatic 2-day shipping, we expect our items to be delivered in 2 business days. When our items don't arrive in the promised amount of time, it becomes an issue. It's no wonder that some of us would become impatient. Two of Amazon's biggest competitors, Walmart and Target, have also adopted free 2-day shipping for people who spend $35 or more on their websites. I have noticed that people who spend over $35 on these sites, qualify for the free 2-day shipping, and they don't get their items in two days, become very agitated. There are a lot of factors that play into that, inclement weather being one of them. Keeping track of your items with the tracking number can put your mind at ease that retailers did their part in getting your items shipped from their end. Continue to monitor your items as they make their way to you. For the most part, 2-day shipping is great. When it comes to Amazon, though, I have noticed that there are some items that aren't eligible for 2-day shipping. The rule of thumb is to look for the items that have the Prime logo attached to it. Also make sure that the item descriptions say 2-day shipping eligible. I learned this lesson the hard way during the first year I had Amazon Prime. source: www.businessinsider.com/amazon-online-shoppers-impatient-two-day-shipping-2018-3
