![]() After failing to find a buyer for the retail behemoth, Toys 'R' Us will be closing all of its stores in the United States, this includes Babies 'R' Us. Dave Brandon, the Chief Executive at Toys 'R' Us, made the announcement last night. "This is a profoundly sad day for us as well as the millions of kids and families who we have served for the past 70 years. We’re putting a 'For Sale' sign on everything. I have always believed that this brand and this business should exist in the US. We worked as hard and as long as we could to turn over every rock." It is estimated that the stores will stay open until sometime in April. Stores in Canada are up for sale, and stores in Australia, France, Poland, Spain, and Portugal are preparing for liquidation. While it is sad that we are losing a staple of our childhood, the sadness is personal for the 33,000 employees who will be out of work in a matter of weeks. Toys 'R' Us, I still don't want to grow up. I will always be a Toys 'R' Us kid. Sad to see you go! Readers: What are some of you fondest memories of Toys 'R' Us?
