A Lyft spokesperson spoke about how the company is looking to provide consumers with affordable and reliable transportation options:
"We’re always testing new ways to provide passengers the most affordable and flexible transportation options. For the past few months, we’ve been testing a variety of All-Access Plans for Lyft passengers."
Lyft states that if you already spend several hundred dollars a month on Lyft rides, either plan would work out well for you.
Lyft decided to test out these subscription services after monitoring Netflix's success with streaming services. Uber has offered subscription services in the past (Uber Plus).
