![]() After 18 million viewers (21.89 million if you count the viewers who watched the premiere the day after) tuned into the season premiere of the Roseanne revival, the network has ordered another season of the hit sitcom. ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey released a statement, saying: "We’re thrilled that America has welcomed the Conner family back into their homes. The show is as fresh and relevant today as it was when it left the air 21 years ago. We can’t wait to see what the Roseanne team has in store for next year." The show brought back the original cast, with other character favorites expected later on this season. The revival has been a trending topic for weeks now, with people from both sides of the fence talking about the show. The show has been condemned by some groups, due to Roseanne Barr's endorsement of President Trump and her feelings on certain topics, such as LGBTQ and others. On the other side of the fence, people are loving that a relatable family sitcom is back on the airways. People are tuning in regardless of Barr's political affiliations (which is how it should be). The season premiere touched on a lot of topics, including gender fluidity. Darlene's son dresses fluidly. He acknowledges himself as a boy, but happens to like dressing unconventional. Roseanne and Dan weren't a fan of this because they knew he'd be made fun of. When Roseanne brought her grandson to school one day, she stood up for him. I think they handled the subject matter amazingly. I, for one, am excited that the show will be back another season. The success of this revival just shows that the sitcom is timeless. We needed something like this on TV. The original series can be watched on Amazon Prime, while the new episodes can be watched on Hulu.
