![]() If you haven't heard about Vero, you're about to. Vero is a social networking app that was released in 2015. However, it has only spiked in popularity within the past couple of months. The spike is due to an increase in people from the cosplay and tattoo communities joining the social media app. The social media app has been downloaded over 500,000 times in the Google Play store, and has spiked in downloads in the Apple store. It is quickly being called the "anti-Facebook" by many, as it is a subscription-based service and does not rely on advertisers. If you act now, you can sign up for free. The first million users who download Vero will be able to use it for free. Vero will be releasing pricing information in the next several days. About Vero Vero was co-founded in Ayman Hariri in 2013. He is a billionaire from Lebanon and the son of a former Lebanese Prime Minister. If you look up what Vero means in Latin, it means "true." The focus of Vero is to have users be the company's customers, and not their advertisers. As some of you have seen from Facebook and Twitter, these social media sites allow people to run ads for a fee (advertising businesses, services, and such). Like Facebook, on Vero you can put your friends list in various categories. So, if you want to share your weekend events with your friends, and not your family, you can post your festivities toward your friends. Unlike Facebook, Vero is open with what personal information it will collect. As we all know, Facebook has taken major hits in the last few years due to what information they take from users. I took a look at some of the reviews, and as of right now, the reviews aren't very favorable. Many are complaining about the app being "buggy." Others state that the app drains the life out of their electronics. The site has also been experiencing a lot of other technical glitches, due to the huge increase in users signing up in such a short period of time. If you're a web writer, or someone who is looking for another social media site to advertise your posts, goods, and/or services, you might want to hold off on signing up until the site is strong enough to handle the influx of users. source: finance.yahoo.com/news/vero-anti-facebook-social-network-everyone-talking-220251275.html
