![]() Galentine's Day is a movement that was founded by Parks and Recreation character Leslie Knope (played by Amy Poehler). The special day is typically celebrated on February 13, the day before Valentine's Day. It is a day where women can get together and celebrate being women. Women can talk about good times, plans for the future and what you mean to one another. Galentine's Day was made up as a response to the reputation of Valentine's Day being a romantic holiday celebrated by couples only. With Galentine's Day, women can celebrate friendship and one another. It is fun, inclusive, and no one ends up crying at the end of the day (happy tears don't count). Ladies, if you find yourself lacking a romantic partner, I encourage you to grab your closest gal pals for an after work dinner. Pop open some champagne bottles and talk about the good times! Happy Galentine's Day to all the amazing females out there, and a special shout-out to all my female friends. Love you ladies!
