Earlier this month, the WWE Universe was stunned when Becky Lynch turned on her best friend Charlotte Flair, the newly crowed Smackdown Women's Champion. The Triple Threat Match between Lynch, Flair, and Carmella was an impressive contest. Lynch came very close to becoming champion on a few occasions. It was Flair who won the championship that day.
At first, it looked like Lynch was in her friend's corner, hugging and congratulating her. Suddenly, Lynch attacked Charlotte, beating the hell out of her. The WWE Universe was shocked. The following Tuesday, Lynch spoke about her actions, saying that she was tired of being denied championship opportunities, and was upset that Charlotte was handed opportunities left and right. She turned her anger toward the WWE Universe, saying that she feels the fans haven't been behind her the whole time. Becky Lynch's heel turn has actually won her fans over even more, with many saying that she was right for attacking Charlotte Flair. Becky Lynch has been a babyface for most, if not all, of her WWE career. The last time she ever turned the slightest bit heel was in 2015 during her time at NXT. Lynch has always been the "sidekick" and "the underdog." While she was the Inaugural Smackdown Women's Champion in 2016, she hasn't had much luck returning to the championship scene. She has had friends turn heel on her left and right, including Charlotte Flair. To be honest, we haven't seen Lynch stand on her own much. People underestimate how great Lynch can be on her own, and she will show us exactly what she is made of. A heel turn will guarantee her a championship win, and here's why. We already know that Lynch is a fiery competitor. With that extra shot of aggression (the heel turn), she can easily win herself the Smackdown Women's Championship from Flair next month. She is an unpredictable heel and sometimes doesn't know her own intense strength. She needs to harness her heart, her desire to become champion, and her aggression into her match. She needs to unleash on Flair. She needs to remember everything that Flair has done to her throughout her career. She needs to remember all those opportunities Flair was handed. Don't get me wrong, Flair is a great WWE Superstar, but she does have it somewhat easier because of her name. I believe that Lynch will win the championship from Flair next month. I also believe that her reign will be long, probably lasting into next year. This is Becky Lynch's time. The one thing that could hurt Lynch is if she gets DQ'd.
