A week ago, our country lost one hell of a woman. Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a pioneer for civil rights, women's rights, feminism, healthcare, and more. If it weren't for her, we wouldn't have Obamacare and gay marriage. Women wouldn't have the right to choose. Her death is a catastrophic loss to women and men of color, to all women, to healthcare, and to humanity as a whole.
RBG became the first woman, and first Jewish person to lie in state at the Capitol in DC. Her coffin was draped with her own American flag, and she was carried into the Capitol by our military. Inside the Capitol, her Personal Trainer paid respect by doing push-ups by her coffin. Lawmakers, politicians, and more paid their respects at the Capitol. Those that were there describe the scene as incredibly emotional, heartbreaking, and filled with gratitude. ![]()
Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery, next to her husband.
Folks, my heart and spirit are still broken by her passing. She has done so much for me, and for every woman in this country. She was strong, compassionate, and she never backed down when challenged. She gave her all to causes she cared about. The best way we can honor her is to continue her fight. We can also honor her by fighting at the polls. We need to vote for those that will continue her hard work. RIP Ruth Bader Ginsburg! <3 Thank you!
