Demi Lovato has been on one hell of a journey through the years. She was a young child when she was on Barney with Selena Gomez. Lovato moved onto "Camp Rock" and "Sonny with a Chance" to name a few. She also embarked on a successful music career, releasing hits such as: "Confident," "Cool for the Summer," "Give Your Heart a Break," "I Love Me," "Sorry Not Sorry," and "Ok Not To Be Ok." My all-time favorite Demi song came out last year: "Commander-In-Chief." That song solidified me as a Demi Lovato fan. It was perfect, powerful, and incredibly ballsy. I salute her for being the voice of all of us during such an unfathomable time.
Things haven't always been sunshine and butterflies, however. She has struggled with her inner demons, and a few years ago, we almost lost her. Everything she has been through has helped her realize EXACTLY who the fuck she is, and she is getting ready to tell the world.
Demi Lovato has given us glimpses into her sexuality, saying that she is queer. She's has experiences with men, and she's had experiences with women.
She was engaged to Max Ehrich last year, but it was called off in September. Lovato told Glamour Magazine that the brief romance between the two of them was a "huge sign."
"This past year, I was engaged to a man and when it didn't work, I was like, 'This is a huge sign.' I thought I was going to spend my life with someone. Now that I wasn't going to, I felt this sense of relief that I could live my truth."
She mentioned to Glamour Magazine that while she knows how to identify herself, she isn't ready to reveal it to the world.
I'm not going to guess what her identity is, and I don't think anyone should make assumptions. I've seen A TON of comments and blogs where people are speculating on what she could be announcing, and it's pretty disgusting. It is no one's place to label her. Only Demi knows who she is. Her opinion of herself is the only opinion that should matter to her.
The only thing I care about is that she is healthy and happy from the inside out. My hope for her is that she is experiencing freedom from her demons, and everything is Zen. She will have me as a fan no matter what.
Demi, take as much time as you need. Continue to be your authentic self, and don't let society tell you otherwise. Stay the confident badass that you are!
