Not only did the reboot's freshman season suck in general, it hit a cord with Selena Gomez's fans by making fun of her kidney transplant.

​Those who have eagerly awaited the SBTB reboot were shocked when some of the characters talked about Selena Gomez's kidney transplant. In 2017, Gomez underwent a kidney transplant in order to fight Lupus, which had become life-threatening for her. During the procedure, she suffered life-threatening complications. Selena, being the strong young lady she is, battled through those complications, recovered, and now speaks out about Lupus. 

Social media erupted in anger and disgust. "RESPECT SELENA GOMEZ" was trending for the better part of Saturday. Fans called out the SBTB producers and the network, saying that allowing that scene was "blatantly insensitive and wrong." Others slammed the show for joking about a deadly disease, saying it was "cruel and unjust." 

Peacock TV did respond to the backlash, saying:
"We apologize. It was never our intention to make light of Selena’s health. We have been in touch with her team and will be making a donation to her charity, The Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research at USC."

My Two Cents
Are you fucking kidding me? Peacock TV actually thinks that throwing money at the problem will make it go away? NO! Take the episode down, and THEN make a donation. Leaving this episode up is just plain insulting. Lupus is NOT something that should be joked about, and profited from. People die from it. Selena Gomez almost died from it. 
 
Peacock TV is a very new network. If they want to have the same longevity as other streaming networks, they might want to take this episode down, apologize again, and then making a sizeable donation to Gomez's charity. 

Guys, I need to apologize for being so excited about this show. Honestly, I think the SBTB reboot cast should have said something when they did the initial read-through. The simple fact that they didn't, just proves to me that none of them have a heart. Cancel the show and take it off the streaming channel. 

I don't have Lupus, but I have a handful of other autoimmune diseases, including Celiac disease. It is painful to see deadly diseases being mocked and joked about on shows, and in movies. I stand with Selena Gomez.

CONGRATS, PEACOCK TV. YOU HAVE RUINED THE LEGACY OF SAVED BY THE BELL, AND INSULTED MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WITH LUPUS AND OTHER AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES. SHAME ON YOU!

If you've never seen a Hallmark movie, let me read you the synopsis of every single Hallmark movie ever made:
"Jaded waif woman meets extremely handsome man. Jaded waif woman learns a lesson about herself. Former jaded waif woman falls in love with extremely handsome man. Cue credits."

Every single fucking Hallmark movie is the same. There has been a huge lack of diversity in storylines, which has turned many viewers off. Regardless, Hallmark still pulls in millions of viewers per movie. 

"Party of Five" and "Mean Girls" alum Lacey Chabert has become one of the queens of Hallmark (Candace Cameron Bure is the main queen, I believe). 
After wrapping her 24th Hallmark movie, and preparing to film her 25th, Lacey Chabert found time in her busy schedule to discuss the similarities in all Hallmark movies.
"Even though a lot of the movies have similar themes, I take great pride in doing my best to tell it in the most honest and unusual way possible, while hopefully creating a character that people can see themselves in."

She gushes that Hallmark movies are "comfort food for the spirit. I think people know they can sit down with their families and watch something that’s uplifting."

She went on to say that the relatable themes (rebuilding families, finding family members, overcoming obstacles, etc) are what brings viewers back for more. 

This year, Hallmark rolled out plans for LGBTQIA-themed movies. Chabert's "Mean Girls" co-star Jonathan Bennett made Hallmark history by starring in the network's FIRST LGBTQIA+ movie. Chabert is fully supportive of Hallmark's push for more diversity. 

My Two Cents
One of the reasons why I do not watch Hallmark is because all the movies are the same. I don't relate to any of the female characters, unless they are the best friend of the waif female star. I've never seen a woman over size 10 be the main star of a Hallmark movie. I think most of the female stars are a size 4 or less. I would love to see a curvy woman be the main star. I'd love to see a bigger man be the love interest. I'd love to see more interracial relationships.
I was beyond excited to see Hallmark roll out their plans for LGBTQIA+ stories. Casting Jonathan Bennett in the first LGBTQIA+ movie is perfect. Jonathan Bennett is one of the most well-respected LGBT actors in Hollywood (he's also AMAZING to follow on social media). I want to see his movie, but I don't have Hallmark anymore. 

I hope Hallmark continues diversifying their storylines and characters. I may actually tune in!

If you were a tween or teen in the late 1980s to mid-1990s, you watched 'Saved by the Bell' every Saturday morning. If you are a female, you crushed on either Zach or Slater. If you are a male, you probably fantasized about Kelly Kapowski more than Jessie Spano and Lisa Turtle. You wished your school principal was Mr. "Big Bopper" Belding, and not the tyrant that runs your school. 
We were all sad when the show ended, and we never dreamed that a reboot would ever come to fruition. 

Fast forward to November 25, 2020. Peacock dropped the first season of the SBTB reboot, and despite the dozens of glitches being reported by viewers, a decent amount of people tuned in!
The 10 episode reboot was chock full of 90s nostalgia: caffeine pills, Slater shaking his groove thing at a party, a time capsule, the excessive use of the term "preppy," a performance of "Friends Forever," by Zack Attack, and the mention of "Jeff (who was played by dreamy Patrick Muldoon in the original series)."

Let's talk about the characters:
As we all know, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen, Mario Lopez, and Elizabeth Berkley Lauren reprised their iconic roles. Lark Voorhies also appeared in a brief scene.

• Zack Morris became an attorney who only ran for Governor of California in order to get out of tickets. Despite being well into his 40s, he is still the same prankster Zack that we all know and love. Kelly Kapowski is still married to Zack Morris, and she runs a wellness company. When she isn't running a company, she is overly sexual with her husband of 26+ years (it's been a long time since I have seen a character THAT horny outside of porn). Their son, Mac Morris, is a chip off the ole block! He is Zack Morris reincarnated: solid prankster who doesn't take life seriously, except when it comes to his friends. 
• AC Slater became the gym teacher and coach at Bayside. He becomes a mentor to a new female student, Aisha, who tries out for the football team.
• Jessie Spano is the school counselor, who also happens to be a best-selling author of several self-help books. Her son Jamie Elenore Spano also plays football on the Bayside team.
• Lexi is a popular/mean girl cheerleader who happens to be trans. She has a huge crush on Jamie Spano, but refuses to tell him (that's because he and Aisha have a thing).
  
• Devonte is a student that is immediately misunderstood. Slater assumed he wanted to try out for football, but Devonte's heart was with the Drama club. 
• Principal Ronald Toddman, played by John Michael Higgins, was a bit too much. The character tried too hard to fit in. He tried too hard with the students, and the OG SBTB characters. It's was cringeworthy. 
• A surprising and notable appearance on the reboot was beloved nerd teacher Mr. Dewey. I have to admit to you guys that I screamed when I saw him. I was, like: "OMG it's Mr Dewey. OMG...wait, he still alive?"
• Another notable appearance is Ed Alonzo, who reprised his role as Max. Max's appearance was definite magic!

The influx of new students at "exclusive" Bayside High is due to Governor Zack Morris closing inner-city schools. Students are bussed to Bayside and paired with a current Bayside student. For the most part, the pairings work out. 

As excited as I was for the reboot, the first season left me cringing. Here's why:
The theme song.
It was just plain awful. There was only one episode where they used the original theme and it was great! The new theme is so overly produced and it sounds like garbage. Lil Yachty remixed the original song to appeal to the current generation, but it's just bad. Listen for yourselves:

• Jessie Spano: ​I like the concept of Jessie being school counselor and an author. I didn't understand her hippie husband, however. Don't get me wrong, I definitely saw her ending up with someone that cares about the environment just as much as she does, but he just didn't fit (sorry Cheyanne Jackson. You're hot and all, but your character is boring). Also, why would you give your son the middle name of Elenore?
• AC Slater: I didn't like the fact that AC Slater was single after all this time. It was also a little awkward that he went on a double date with the school principal. The only cool part about that whole scene is that Slater's date was played by Mario Lopez's real-life wife Courtney Lopez. 
• Zack and Kelly: As for Zack, I feel like that the writers made him stunted, personality-wise. It's like he's in some mid-life crisis. Just like his wife Kelly, he is overly-sexed up, nearly turning The Max into the set of some porn film in the final episode. 
• Lisa Turtle: Lisa Turtle turned out EXACTLY how I thought she would: running the fashion world. In her brief appearance, she is living in France and living her best life. The part that killed it for me is when she said she had multiple lovers. Why would you turn Lisa Turtle into a hoe? C'mon now!
  
  

What I found interesting with the OGs is that the writers sort of opened the door for something to happen with Slater and Jessie. It was insinuated throughout the first season that Slater still has feelings for his high school sweetheart. With Jessie's marriage crumbling, he may have an opening. I have mixed feelings about this potential storyline. I'm extremely turned off by any story that's predictable. However, I was a fan of this pairing in the original series. The writers need to do this storyline in a way that honors the characters. Anything else will mess it up completely (Hire me! I have at least 20 ideas for Slater and Jessie). 

Also, what the fuck is up with turning the OGs into overly sexual people? Don't get me wrong, I'm anything but prude. However, the hyper-sexuality with the OGs kind of takes away the magic of their characters from the 80s and 90s. 

When it comes to the younger cast, I think they were all generally amazing.

• Lexi: I love the character of Lexi. I think Josie Totah is a phenomenal young actress. She's definitely an inspiration for her young fans who are trans. The casting did an incredible job hiring her. She did such a great job playing the popular/mean girl. She's like the Gen Z version of Kelly Kapowski!
• Daisy: I think Haskiri Velasquez was brilliant as Daisy. Daisy takes over the whole "TIME OUT" concept for the reboot, and she does a good job with it.  
• Mac: Mitchell Hoog, who played Mac Morris, was so believable as Zack and Kelly's son. He played the hell out of that role! 
• Aisha: I loved Alysia Pascual-Pena, who played Aisha. I love that her character was the QB of a male-dominated football team. I remember the OG show trying a similar concept with a female wrestler joining the wrestling team. I wish they had done more with that. 
• Devante: I loved Dexter Darden's character of Devante. You look at him and think "football player" or "wrestler." He ended up being in the drama club. I love that! It sends a message that you cannot judge a book by its cover. 
• Jamie: Jamie is a perfect son for Jessie. He loves his mother, but also is a typical teenage boy. He plays football, he's girl-crazy, but he isn't a jerk about it. He dates Aisha for a while, they break up, and then he finds out about Lexi's crush on him (in my opinion, Lexi and Jamie would be a perfect power couple. I definitely ship them). 

​Bottom line is: The theme song is a piece of shit. The younger cast is amazing. The OG characters were butchered and bastardized. 
Should there be a season 2? I definitely want to see more, but if they fuck up the OG's in a second season, I will be extremely pissed off. They need to do better with the OGs.

​Candace Cameron Bure's tits are once again in the press (now THAT'S something I never expected to say about CCB)! Cameron Bure is still being haunted by a pic she posted in early September, where her husband of 24 years playfully grabbed her boob. 

The Christian Karens clutched their pearls, doused their eyes in holy water, and eventually passed out from the "overly sexual image." When they came-to, they hopped on Instagram and slammed her for posting the pic. Candace hopped on Insta-Stories and addressed the scandal, pretty much laughing at the offended Christians. She even said, "sorry not sorry."

In a recent podcast, she addressed the boob scandal, and why she took offense to her Christian peers being so offended:
"I’ve been married for 24 years. I’m a Christian, my husband’s a Christian and I’m really proud that we’ve managed to stay married for 24 years. And the fact that we have fun and we flirt together, this is part of what makes our marriage work. This is something to be celebrated as a Christian.
Sex doesn’t stop once you get married. Sex is the blessing of marriage and I hate when Christians are like, no, you have to pretend like you’ve never had sex, and we only know that you’ve had sex three times because you’ve had three children. If we are to promise ourselves for one another and preach saving yourself for marriage, then sex needs to be celebrated within marriage." 

Candace Cameron Bure revealed that it took her a long time to be comfortable with her sexuality, along with having sex with her husband. 
"I lived in such a fear of 'Oh my gosh, I'm not supposed to be a sexual person, because I have to save myself. God is going to think negatively of me if I'm having sex or doing things or fooling around. There was such a shame culture on it that when I got married, I was like, I don’t know how to adjust my brain.
For so many times, especially in the beginning, but for a few years, I would have sex with my husband thinking like, ‘Oh my gosh, is God looking at me and like is this bad?' It’s very difficult to flip that switch. And it has taken years to work through it and then understand it and enjoy it and then embrace it. Now I embrace it so much that my kids are like, 'Mom, please stop talking about sex. Please stop.'"

She lived in fear of her sexuality. I can see that happening with anyone being brought up as a conservative Christian. You are brainwashed to think that sex is between one man, and one woman, IN marriage. Anything sexual outside of marriage, or with a member of the same sex, is evil and forbidden. That would scare anyone.
With how religious Candace and Val are, I can see how sex can be awkward at first. I am assuming both Candace and Val were virgins when they got married. They were engaging in an activity that changes things. It's hard to turn off that voice that says "you should be ashamed of yourself, doing that in front of God." 
That's solid brainwashy behavior. 

Additionally, I can understand being so comfortable in your sexuality that you want to share it with everyone. However, there are boundaries when it comes to kids (even adult kids). You don't continuously discuss sexuality with your kids, without them wanting to jump off a building. 

When I saw the boob pic, I wasn't offended by it. I thought it was silly. I also thought about what her kids were thinking when they saw it. I could feel their embarrassment all the way from the east coast. 

I really hope the Christian Karens can finally put this boobgate to bed (RAWR!). It's really stupid. 

In closing: IT'S A FUCKING BOOB! It's not like we saw ball sack or snatch or anything. She had clothes on, and no nipples were being pinched. Nothing to see here, folks. Move TF on!

First off, I don't think she mentioned the breakup for clout. She did it as a satire (everyone does it!). She could have been as salty as Max and talked about WHY they broke up, but she didn't. Secondly, she only mentioned Max on ONE awards show.

In a new twist, Britney Spears vows to never perform again, so long as her estranged father Jamie Spears is in charge of her career. 
On Tuesday, Britney Spears tried to remove her dad as conservator. Her attorney told the judge that Britney Spears is afraid of her father. "She will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career."

​Dad Jamie Spears has been in charge of his daughter's affairs since her very public meltdown in 2008. The #FreeBritney movement was born thereafter, and members of the movement have become increasingly worried about her. Many people suspect that Britney is being held against her will, and that she is being drugged. Additionally, fans believe she is being FORCED to perform.

The simple fact that Britney Spears is afraid of her father, it gives validity to what the #freeBritney movement has been saying for YEARS! If you combine all of that with her erratic behavior this year, things are definitely not copacetic. Everything is suspect. 

The good news is, she has two family members who have her back: her mother Lynne Spears, and her sister Jamie Lynn Spears. Jamie Lynn Spears became an appointed trustee to Britney's fortune back in 2018. She is responsible for making sure Britney's fortune is put in a trust for her boys, in the event of her death. 

Even though Jamie Spears is still in charge of her conservatorship, the court is open to considering any and all petitions to have him removed. Hopefully Britney Spears can get him removed ASAP so we can have our Queen back on her throne!
