BTVS star Alyson Hannigan reveals who was the better boyfriend for Buffy: Angel or Spike...11/12/2020 ![]()
It has been THE debate for nearly 20 years (I say 20 years because Spike and Buffy didn't get together until season 6, which happened in 2001/2002 I believe): Who was the better leading man in Buffy's life? Angel or Spike.
The debate was brought up a few days ago when Buffy fanatic/politician/Georgia peach Stacey Abrams brought up the topic. She is widely know for referencing the show when she discusses politics (which is why I have a MASSIVE girl crush on Stacey Abrams). Anyway, she shared that she shipped Buffy with Spike, and her followers caught on. She then clarified WHY she shipped Buffy and Spike:
Alyson Hannigan, who played Willow on BTVS chimed in, saying: "I'll vote yes to that!" She wasn't done, though!
Last night she tweeted an epic mic drop that is still sending shockwaves throughout Buffyverse:
Wha...wha...what...?! I mean, I'm not against it, but it's so strange because they are like sisters. Can you IMAGINE though, if Buffy and Willow actually had a THANG? A slayer and a witch-turned-goddess would be a romantic pairing of EPIC proportions!
Ugh, I need to lie down from this one, LOL! Who do I think was the better boyfriend? This is a toughie, because Buffy and Angel had this serious fluffy bunny romance thing going on in the beginning. He was her first love. With Spike, it was hot as hell! They went at it like energizer bunnies during season 6. I think she did grow to love him...eventually. I agree with Stacey Abrams: "Spike was the right man to be with when she became the power." Spike challenged her a lot, and it helped her grow. Did I mention that they were hot as hell together? LOL! I will never forget that sex scene when they brought down the building they were in. Lawd have mercy! Folks: who was the better boyfriend? Spike or Angel? ![]()
Oooh, my heart! Spuffy forever!! <3
