Finally, a 4th generation star has descended upon...the WWE!
That's right! Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's daughter Simone is following in her dad's footsteps, and has signed with the WWE. She is also following in the footsteps of her great-grandfather High Chief Peter Maivia, and her grandfather Rocky Johnson. The 18-year-old reported to the Performance Center to begin her training (for NXT), and she is already gettign rave reviews from her trainers. They all say she is soaking in all the information she is being given. Johnson has released a statement explaining how she feels about following in the footsteps of her great-grandfather, her grandfather, and her father: "It means the world to me. To know that my family has such a personal connection to wrestling is really special to me and I feel grateful to have the opportunity, not only to wrestle, but to carry on that legacy." Paul "Triple H" Levesque also released a statement, saying: âSimone Johnsonâs unbridled passion and incredible drive has earned her a coveted spot training with the elite athletes from around the world at the WWE Performance Center. Not only does Simone now have an opportunity to cultivate and display her passion for WWE within the Performance Center, but sheâll carry on the tradition of her incredible family lineage while creating her own impact as WWEâs first fourth generation Superstar." Simone Johnson will be learning from head coach Matt Bloom, and assistant head coach Sara Amato. Bloom described Johnson as being someone who is "hungry to learn," and that she "picks the coaches' minds, and the veteran Superstars' as well." The coaches report that she is "crushing it" so far. How is The Rock feeling about his daughter continuing their family's legacy? He is one proud papa. Just check out his Insta for yourselves (see below)! I look forward to seeing Simone on the main roster someday! Her family's legacy is perhaps the largest legacy in the history of the WWE (bigger than the McMahan's, sorry not sorry), and she will take sports entertainment by storm. All I ask is that I see a raised eyebrow, and The People's Elbow...at least once.
