WWE wrestler Zelina Vega was fired from WWE after showing support for unions.
She posted her tweet at 2:46pm PST. WWE tweeted her release at 2:56pm PST.
If you've been an avoid follower of WWE for the last several decades, you know that WWE is firmly against the idea of unionization. Back in 1986, Vince McMahon fired Jesse Ventura after he suggested to a supposed friend, that WWE unionize. Many years later, he found out that Hulk Hogan snitched on him to Vinnie Mac.
Anyway, I'm not suggesting her pro-union stance was the reason why she was fired. The reason behind her termination has not been released. It's just rather convenient that she was released subsequently after sending that tweet. WWE has been cleaning house with its staff as of late. The pandemic has hit every business hard, and WWE is no different. Ah well. WWE's loss is AEW's gain! Cody Rhodes, please hire Zelina! She is phenomenal and would be an asset to AEW! Vega sent out a tweet of thanks to her fans an hour after WWE fired her.
My Two Cents
What is wrong with showing support for unions? When compared to Vince McMahon's public support of loathesome Donald Trump, Zelina's support for unions is not harmful to anyone. Hey Vinnie Mac: UNION, UNION UNION. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice! #ZelinaVega #WWE #WWEUniverse #WWERaw #SDLive #WWESmackdown #VinceMcMahon #AEW #CodyRhodes
