âSince her conservatorship ended last year, Britney Spears has been voicing her anger and pain about what she has been through. While fans have rallied with her and supported her through everything, lately Britney has started to lose a lot of her fanbase.
People began distancing themselves from Britney when she started dragging her sons on social media. Last night, Britney posted one of the most disgusting attacks that we've seen from her yet. Spears, 40, posted a meme on Instagram that said
"I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people." It was a quote from late actor/comedian Rodney Dangerfield.
Spears captioned the post "I wish I could have chosen the nannies for my children ⦠my dancers ⦠I mean if I had Christina Aguileraâs dancers I would have looked extremely small ððð⦠I mean why not talk about it ?? Donât you think my confidence would have been a bit better if I could choose where I lived, ate, whom I called on the phone, dated and who was on stage with me !!! Itâs hard sometimes now I see how much of my womanhood was stripped away at that time and every person sat back and didnât say a thing !!! Anyways ⦠I will be here talking bout things people NEVER talked about ððð !!!"
âWhile the post received 216,100 likes, the comment section is FULL of comments asking Britney to take the post down and apologize. Even her most die-hard fans are disgusted by Britney's horrendous attack on Aguilera and her dancers. Fellow celebrities have also called her out on her body-shaming.
Christina Aguilera DID see the post and immediately unfollowed Britney. She has not publicly addressed Britney's post, and probably won't since she's a grownup.
(Former) fans are calling Britney "Toxic," "Canceled," "Jealous," and "a bully." She is also being called an attention-seeker. Many are saying she is perpetuating fatphobia.
I was a fan of Britney Spears since 1999. I was upset and felt that something was wrong when her conservatorship lasted so long. I supported the "Free Britney" movement. I cried tears of joy when her conservatorship ended. I regret everything now. I was hoping Britney would sort of take time away after her conservatorship ended so she could reset and rebuild her life. Nope. For the last year, she has done nothing but use social media as her "burn book." As a mother, I was disgusted when she began dragging her 2 sons, who are MINORS, on social media. If you have a disagreement with your children, don't bring it out on social media. Settle it behind closed doors. Does she think her boys will want her around NOW?! NOPE! Now she adds body-shaming to her repertoire. I've been all over the place in terms of weight. Body-shaming is a trigger for me. I've suffered eating disorders, and even today I have body image issues. When she posted that caption with that meme, I was DONE WITH BRITNEY SPEARS! She has gone way too far. As of right now, the post is still up, and she is trending on all social media platforms. Britney, you need to get some fucking help. I was a long-time fan of yours, I supported your movement. Now, I take back everything I said about you. You need to be back in your conservatorship (not with Jamie, but with someone else). You are shameful, toxic, and you have lost your fucking mind! You should be ashamed of yourself. You need to apologize to Christina Aguilera (she has done NOTHING wrong), her dancers (they have done NOTHING to deserve this), and your fans (the ones you have left). YOU. ARE. CANCELED.
