Endomorphs are one of the three primary somatotypes (body types), with the other two being ectomorphs and mesomorphs. Endomorphs tend to have a higher percentage of body fat and may find it easier to gain weight and fat, particularly around the abdomen. Losing weight for an endomorph involves a combination of dietary changes, regular exercise, and lifestyle modifications. Here are some strategies that can help:
As an endomorph myself, it is extremely hard to lose weight and keep it off. Our bodies are different than the ectomorphs and mesomorphs of the world. We have to pay extra close attention to our food intake, and our workout regimen. I will say that doing interval training has proven effective for me in the past.
After I had my son, I lost over 60lbs (I only gained 40 during pregnancy). I did a lot of interval training, and at the time, I thought my diet was on point. I was only able to keep my weight off for a year because my food intake was off. I wasn't eating enough.
As I embark on this current weight loss journey, I am more focused on my calories and macros than ever before. It's hard, and you have to get creative. As long as you are within your macro limits, you will be fine.
